Induction Program
Overview
"I have gained valuable insight into my teaching from developing an excellent working relationship with my mentor." |
"I am always so grateful for LACOE and everything that you all do on the administrative side. Recently, I went to a large music education conference in Fresno and got to hear from a lot of my colleagues I haven't seen since our undergraduate classes together. Although it was clear before, hearing what others have to do for induction has only made me appreciate even more what you all do for us. Our work is relevant and is not overwhelming or too arduous. It is paced out well and is realistic to what we are doing in the classroom."

WHAT IS INDUCTION? |
WHAT MAKES OUR PROGRAM UNIQUE |
The Beginning Teacher Program's Induction Program is a state-approved 2042 Induction Program for eligible teachers holding a preliminary Multiple Subject, Single Subject, Education Specialist, or Level I Education Specialist credential, who need to complete teacher induction for the Professional Clear Credential. Induction is a two-year job embedded program where Candidates meet weekly with an experienced mentor to create an Individual Learning Plan that aligns with local goals and expectations. A one-year Early Completion Option (ECO) is available to candidates who meet eligibility criteria. Upon completion of the Induction Program and verification of all requirements, Candidates are recommended for a Clear Teaching Credential.
